"La. Hospital Beats Ex-Employee's Racial Discrimination Suit," Marcus Crider and Coe Heard featured in Law360

Waller Marcus Crider and Coe Heard were featured in a Law360 article about their successful defense of a client in a racial discrimination suit.

From Law360:

A Louisiana federal judge has dismissed a Title VII racial discrimination suit against the Minden Medical Center, ruling that a former employee can’t prove she was wrongly denied a promotion, based on either her race or qualifications.
Chief U.S. District Judge S. Maurice Hicks Jr. on Monday dismissed with prejudice the last of Theresa Lawson’s suit at the summary judgment stage. The Louisiana hospital was able to prove that it promoted another employee, Jamie
Malone, because that candidate was more qualified and eager for the job, the court said.

Crider told Law360:
“This was the correct result under the undisputed facts of the case and well-established law."
