Charley leads two important efforts for Waller: the Oncology Sector team through Waller’s Healthcare Department and the Business Asset Protection group that cuts across many of Waller’s practice areas.         
 

Experience

  • Successfully defended employers from claims of retailiation for reports to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
  • Assisted a national hospice company in managing its litigation outcomes and costs
  • Obtained restraining order and enforced non-compete and non-solicitation agreement against former healthcare executive in Atlanta under Georgia law 
  • Litigated and served as trial counsel in numerous matters involving alleged violations of Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), wrongful discharge, and retaliation 
  • Obtained injunctive relief prohibiting chief executive and vice presidents from conspiring to use client’s trade secrets to steal its largest contractual relationships 
  • Regularly drafts and enforces non-compete, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements in the healthcare, hospice and banking industries 
  • Successfully arbitrated a dispute between joint venture partners in outpatient surgery centers
  • Prosecuted a major insurance billing dispute involving worldwide manufacturing companies

Up Close

Charley is a native Nashvillian.  He is married to his high school sweetheart, Corrie, and they have two children, Caitlin and Cole.  He coaches several of his son’s sports teams, teaches Sunday School, regularly attends a boot camp, and is an avid runner.  Charley is passionate about fighting against blood cancers, and he has spoken on numerous occasions about survivorship, clinical trial treatments and the determination of the human spirit.
