James "Jim" M. Doran, Jr.

  • Successfully argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit a novel legal argument that a lessor was entitled to payment of rent in gold coin based upon the gold clause in a 1917 commercial lease, whose terms were included in a 1990 assignment, resulting in excess of a 15-fold increase in annual rental payments over 25 years
  • Appellate experience in the Tennessee appellate courts, the Sixth and Eighth Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court, including filing briefs for Amicus Curiae in the Supreme Court.

Jim's personal interests include sailing, cycling, and travel. He and his wife have enjoyed sailing trips along the eastern seaboard and have taken bike trips in Italy, France, and New Zealand.
