Representing financial institutions, healthcare companies, owners and developers, and other businesses, Michael Harmon brings an even-tempered intensity to help solve his clients disputes. Michael’s clients describe him as a strategic and focused advocate in civil litigation and commercial disputes. While he was in law school Michael simultaneously earned an M.B.A., and clients value his understanding of their business objectives as he develops effective dispute resolution strategies.
Banks, bank holding companies, broker-dealers and other financial services clients rely on Michael to guide them through disputes, including litigation related to interest rate swaps and derivatives. He also defends financial services clients against allegations of fraud and complaints brought with regulators. Michael has earned a reputation for getting results in matters involving technical financial issues and complex contractual relationships. He has successfully represented banks and other financial institutions in trial, through evidentiary hearings in arbitration, and before regulatory bodies. For years, Michael has represented Capital Markets divisions of financial institutions in swaps and derivatives litigation and workouts related to interest rate swaps. Michael also represented a group of five national lenders in a dispute with the lead bank of a syndicated credit facility. After a two-week evidentiary hearing, arbitrators in the dispute held that the Waller clients had no liability in the matter.
In addition to his extensive financial services experience, Michael represents healthcare and real estate clients in contractual disputes ranging from investor lawsuits to real estate leasing litigation.
For Michael, an ideal weekend is a trip to a new place with family and friends.
